Daily Oil Pulling for Detoxing
Oil pulling is a very simple and inexpensive tool for detoxing.
Dr. Karach first spoke of oil pulling at an Oncologists conference in 1992 - he declared that that oil pulling can work on “headaches, bronchitis, tooth pain, thrombosis, eczema, ulcers and diseases of the stomach, intestines, heart, blood, kidney, liver, lungs and women’s diseases. It also works on the nerves, including, paralysis, and encephalitis. It can prevent the growth of malignant tumours, treat cuts and even chronic sleeplessness is cured.”
Dr. Karach also found for himself that, “With the oil therapy I have cured my chronic blood disease, which I have suffered with for 15 years. It also healed in three days, an acute arthrosis which had kept me in bed."
The theory of oil pulling:
Oil is non-polar. The arrangement of atoms in some molecules forms polar magnetic compositions, whereby one pole has a positive electrical charge and the other pole has a negative charge. The molecule is then called a polar molecule. Without the two electrical poles, it would be known as a non-polar molecule. It is these polar charges which determine how a solution mixes, i.e. oil and water.
Saliva, which is secreted into the mouth when the oil is repeatedly swished and pulled, is mainly water, electrolytes, digestive enzymes, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral agents. The saliva is therefore mainly polar and it attracts other polar molecules towards it.
It is this magnetic mixture that works together to rid the mouth and body of unwanted toxins and chemicals.
Which Oil to Use?
Dr. Karach recommends either sesame oil or sunflower oil, but at Healthy Atom, we also recommend organic cold-pressed virgin coconut oil.
Sesame oil is more warming than other oils and can be more gently detoxifying than oils that are “colder”, such as olive oil. Sunflower oil has a milder taste and coconut oil requires you to hold it at the front of the mouth for a few minutes until it has melted.
Some people have reported that coconut oil is stronger. If you are using it and find that you go into a state of heavy detox symptoms, then use caution and slow down.
The Oil Pulling Method:
On an empty stomach in the morning, take one tablespoon of oil into your mouth. If you do this as part of the Healthy Atom - Product Programmes, which includes a secondary oil pulling session in the afternoon or the evening, make sure it is done on an empty stomach.
How to 'swish' the oil: At first, keep the oil to the front of your mouth and then gently move it around without swallowing it, using your tongue and making sure it moves through your teeth. Do not gargle the oil. Over a few minutes you will find that the oil becomes more runny or watery as your saliva mixes with it. This is the oil pulling up toxins from the stomach and from the mouth via the saliva. If you find that your jaw aches, then you are doing the swishing motion too hard. Do this for approximately 20mins.
If you have the unbearable urge to swallow, vomit or the feel of the oil in the mouth becomes too unpleasant to hold it in, then eject it out and try again. It may take a few attempts before you are comfortable with having the feel of oil in the mouth.
After 20mins eject the oil from the mouth into a glass and rinse the mouth with water. It is also beneficial to brush your teeth. Do not pour coconut oil down the drain, as once it hardens it can affect your pipes. Instead, eject it into a tissue and put it in the bin.
A good indication of detoxification: if the oil is white or milky in colour after 20mins, then you have eliminated toxins from your body. If it has remained the oil colour of yellow, you will need to do the 20min session again.
Children can also do oil pulling with less quantity of oil. They must be comfortable with the feel of oil in the mouth and have control over their ability to not swallow it.
